Delightful Web Experiences for Exchange Programming
Cultural Vistas (CV) is a nonprofit organization that facilitates career-based exchange programs.
As Senior Designer, I developed and executed web design strategies for CV and its exchange programs. Although my role was primarily as a designer, I had multiple opportunities to utilize my skills in web development to implement branded websites for marketing.
With both hands in design and development, I balanced visual delight and accessibility to craft engaging interfaces while accelerating workflows by utilizing dev tools, like Bootstrap and SASS, and creating templates for microsites and email newsletters.

Peter Plotica, Senior Designer

Email Newsletter
CV’s email campaign designs were outdated so I collaborated with the Communications team to reevaluate content and conduct frequent A/B testing on the monthly newsletter to test wording, buttons, colors, and layouts. With our findings, I designed cleaner, more accessible email templates for campaigns that were easier for users to read and for us to track metrics.

Microsite
Microsites were often created under tight deadlines among a sea of other deliverables. Based on a previous Bootstrap template, I revised the interface and removed bloat while keeping essential jQuery functions to make a one-page website template to facilitate website development. This provided more time to design and develop unique web experiences for each exchange initiative.

Online Annual Report
As printed annual reports were being phased out due to low readership, we identified a need for online annual reports to be more current, consistent, and sustainable. I collaborated with the Design and Communications team to rewrite the content, create new infographics, and redesign the layout more like a web publication. I also used this opportunity to incorporate SASS to create CV’s first CSS library and ease style customizations.
